Tamil Solidarity has taken the initiative in setting up a new Tamil online media called Ethir which conducted its first online live meeting on Saturday 15 April. This was held in Tamil and watched by around 150 at the time of the meeting. Many called during the meeting and after to ask questions and to contribute. It was broadcast live on the Ethir website, Facebook and YouTube simultaneously. The live discussion reached over 1,000 people in the few days since.
Members discussed how some of the diaspora organisations focus solely on lobbying the United Nations rather than building the strength of the Tamil masses.
