4.00 pm – 6.00 pm Tamil’s rights and trade union action

Tamil Solidarity has launched a trade union solidarity campaign and is inviting unions in Britain and elsewhere to establish close links with militant unions and activists in Sri Lanka. We will report on the developments and feature speakers from various unions in Britain. Additionally, a new proposal to hold a conference in the north of Sri Lanka will be discussed.

This meeting aims to bring together Tamil Solidarity activists, supporters, and various organizations we collaborate with. Tamil Solidarity places a high priority on strengthening the community’s connection with unions in the UK and Sri Lanka. We are currently running a “Join a Union” campaign in Britain, and our goal is to support the work of unions in Sri Lanka as well. In collaboration with the teachers’ union in Sri Lanka, we are exploring the possibility of organizing a Union Solidarity Conference in Sri Lanka in 2024.

We invite you to attend this meeting and actively participate in the discussions about our plans to further enhance solidarity with unions and our future initiatives. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any additional information.

Thank you for your support.
